Capital Regional District Releases 2016 Annual Report

Victoria, BC- The Capital Regional District (CRD) released its Annual Report today. The report outlines progress made on strategic priorities while ensuring the efficient delivery of services. It also highlights the activities of the CRD’s other corporate entities, the Capital Regional Hospital District (CRHD) and Capital Region Housing Corporation (CRHC), and the many CRD-appointed commissions.

“2016 was a milestone year,” says CRD Board Chair Barbara Desjardins. “We moved forward on strategic priorities that contribute to a thriving and vibrant community and benefit the region. I would like to thank all those who celebrated our 50th anniversary with us and helped showcase the collaboration that has shaped this region for the better.”

The report highlights the breadth and scope of what the CRD does on a daily basis and demonstrates how the CRD contributes to an improved quality of life for the residents and businesses in the region. 2016 outcomes range from ground-breaking projects, such as The Summit at Quadra Village to innovative strategies and partnerships, such as the development of the Regional Housing First Program and the Regional Trails Management Plan. The report also includes financial highlights.

The CRD delivers regional, sub-regional and local services to 13 municipalities and three electoral areas on southern Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands.
