Proposed Kemp Lake Foreshore Access Improvement Plan

Juan de Fuca Parks and Recreation in collaboration with the Freshwater Fisheries Society of BC and JdF Local Area Planning, is proposing to enhance facilities at Kemp Lake off the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure Milligan Road foreshore access. This area is a popular site for non-motorized boat launch, fishing and swimming. The proposed plan would provide a dock for boat launches, fishing and swimming as well as improve parking, picnic and washroom facilities.

A public participation report, presenting the activities undertaken relating to the public participation process for the Kemp Lake Infrastructure Improvement Proposal and comments received through that process, was presented to the Juan de Fuca Electoral Area Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission at its meeting of April 25, 2017.

Stewardship Agreements - Volunteer Opportunities

Friends of Eaglecrest Park, Friends of Copper Mine Park, the Seagirt Ponds Preservation Society, the Mount Matheson Conservation Society and the Juan de Fuca Community Trails Society have signed Stewardship Agreements to help steward Juan de Fuca Community Parks and Trails. If you wish to set up a similar society, or just want to volunteer your time and skills towards the maintenance, upkeep or improvement of your community parks, please contact 250.642.8103 or email.

Help Steward Our Community Treasures

Community parks and trails are yours to enjoy, and a legacy for future generations. While visiting, please respect the private property next to the parks, trails, viewpoints, and ocean accesses and leave no trace of your visit or the visit of your dog. Leave the treasures that you find, including wildflowers, for others to enjoy.

Community Parks Memorial Bench or Table

As a memory for a loved one or community member, the Juan de Fuca Community Parks program will support your donation of a memorial bench or picnic table at selected sites within a park or along park trails.
