SEAPARC Facility Update

Under the guidance of BC's Chief Medical Health Officer, the Life Saving Society, WorkSafe BC, Island Health and the BC Recreation Parks Association, staff continue to work on a plan to re-open more facilities, programs and services. Currently, DeMamiel Creek Golf Course, the Sooke Skate Park and Bike Park, summer camps, and the weight room are now safely operating under the new health and safety guidelines. We will soon be re-introducing a select number of fitness classes that will begin in the summer. We recognize that many people are eager to return to the pool as well. In order to do this, we must ensure that we are able to provide a safe place for staff and patrons. We anticipate that the pool may open near the end of August, however we do not yet have an exact date established. The arena opening is still to be determined. Your health and safety will always be a priority. Please keep an eye on our website and facebook page for updates as they become available. Thank you for your support as we ready additional services for your safe return.

The SEAPARC Weight Room is now open. Use of this facility will look different. This includes the requirement of reserving a 1.5 hour time slot in advance to attend the facility. This will assist in maintaining appropriate physical distancing measures and allow for enhanced cleaning during the day. You will be able to reserve either online or by phone 72 hours in advance.

The following outdoor facilities are open:

SEAPARC Summer Camp Programs

SEAPARC is ready to welcome your children back for a safe, fun and adventure filled summer. All camps will take place at the SEAPARC facility, and on the grounds and surrounding area that are within walking distance. A variety of activities have been planned to keep your children active all summer long. A number of strategies will be implemented to provide a safe and healthy environment for staff and participants, following the guidelines set forth by the Provincial Health Officer, Work Safe BC, BCCDC, the BCRPA and Island Health.

  • Camp capacity has been reduced
  • Activities will take place mainly outdoors and will be modified to support physical distancing
  • Enhanced cleaning protocols will be in place
  • Additional health and safety protocols will be implemented

Please note that some of the summer camp program options previously offered will no longer be available. Registration for all other programs that are noted in SEAPARC's Summer Active Living Guide including fitness, aquatic and community recreation, will be on hold until further notice.

As the situation surrounding COVID-19 continues to impact our community, SEAPARC will offer payment plan options for those in financial need who wish to register for summer camps. For information on payment plan options and for those unable to pay by credit card, please contact us at 250.642.8000. If we are unable to proceed with any summer programs, a full refund will be provided.

Staff continue to actively monitor the status of the COVID-19 pandemic on a daily basis and adjust precautionary procedures as dictated by the Office of BC’s Chief Medical Officer.
