This year, Panorama is partnering with the Victoria Foundation and the Traffic Safety Commission through the CRD’s People Power Program to include an added emphasis on active transportation each week. Cycling, walking and rolling are easy and low-cost ways to improve personal health, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and connect residents with their community. Free bike repair workshops and cycling jamborees will be hosted on July 15, 28 and August 10. Adults can learn about bike safety, cadence and gearing and road position, while kids will have fun navigating an on-site cycling course.

The program will launch with a BBQ dinner by donation on July 4 beginning at 5:30pm at Pioneer Park.

Panorama would like to thank the following sponsors for their generous contributions to the Play in the Park program: CRD, Victoria Foundation, CRD Traffic Safety Commission, People Power, Investors Group, Van Isle Marina, Times Colonist, Sidney by the Sea Rotary and the Bottle Depot.

Panorama Recreation Centre, operated by the CRD, offers a wide variety of recreational and general interest programs throughout the municipalities of North Saanich, Central Saanich and the town of Sidney.
