Victoria, BC– The Peninsula Recreation Commission has released the Panorama Recreation 2016-2020 Strategic Plan.
The following Strategic Priorities have been identified:
- Develop and implement a collaborative model for evaluating facility needs on the Saanich Peninsula.
- Explore the feasibility of establishing food services at Panorama Recreation.
- Develop an arts-based strategy to expand art programs and services that will improve and promote the health on the Saanich Peninsula.
- Identify strategies to enhance and complement programs and services offered by the Peninsula Recreation Commission.
The 2016-2020 Strategic Plan outlines strategies and initiatives that guide opportunities for recreation, seek community and stakeholder input and explore the long-term program and facility needs of each community, as well as aligning with the mission of the Capital Regional District to work together to build a vibrant, liveable and sustainable region.

About the CRD Peninsula Recreation Commission
The CRD Peninsula Recreation Commission is a partnership of the municipalities of Sidney, North Saanich and Central Saanich, which are located just north of Victoria, B.C. on the Saanich Peninsula. The Commission serves the 36,000 residents in these municipalities as well as the 2,400 residents of the Pauquachin, Tsawout, Tseycum and Tsartlip First Nations. The Commission provides direction and oversight over the Panorama Recreations Centre and other facilities and programs operated by the CRD. Funding for the Commission's operations comes from user fees and requisitions from the three municipalities.
Panorama Recreation Centre, operated by the CRD, offers a wide variety of recreational and general interest programs throughout the municipalities of North Saanich, Central Saanich and the town of Sidney.
