Victoria, BC– The CRD Arts Committee is pleased to announce the award of $12,000 in IDEA grants to not-for-profit organizations in the Capital Region.
IDEA grants (Innovate, Develop, Experiment, Access) provide incentives for non-arts organizations to initiate arts-based activities that support innovation, one-time opportunities and increase access and participation by organizations ineligible under other Arts Development programs.
“It’s a small but important program,” said David Screech, Chair of the CRD Arts Committee, “It builds capacity in organizations by helping them engage their target audiences and fulfill their mandates using the arts.”
The CRD Arts Development Service is supported by eight municipalities: Victoria, Saanich, Oak Bay, Esquimalt, Metchosin, Highlands, View Royal and Sidney.
The next deadline for IDEA grants is May 1, 2015. For further information and a complete list of IDEA grant recipients and events, visit please see www.crd.bc.ca/service/arts-funding.
