Open House on Proposed Park Land Donation to Capital Regional District

May 14, 2008

Victoria, BC- The Land Conservancy of British Columbia (TLC) is proposing to donate to the Capital Regional District (CRD) land adjacent to Mount Work Regional Park. Media are invited to attend an open house hosted by the District of Highlands Council and the CRD on the proposal.

Thursday, May 15 from 7-9 pm
Caleb Pike School House
1589 Millstream Road

The land is identified as an area of interest in the CRD Regional Parks Master Plan. The 65 hectare parcel would contribute to completing the west boundary of the park and protect older Douglas-fir forest and woodlands. A loop trail connecting to the top of Mount Work is also proposed.

Staff from CRD Regional Parks, the District of Highlands and TLC will be present to provide information and respond to questions.
