Ganges sewer service provides local sewage collection and treatment for the community of Ganges on Salt Spring Island. The service's treatment plant produces treated liquid effluent and sludge. The liquid effluent is dispersed into the ocean by an outfall; the sludge is sent to the Salt Spring Island liquid waste disposal facility for further processing.

In 1978 preliminary work on sewage collection and disposal commenced and in 1985 the CRD assumed responsibility for construction and provision of sewage collection, treatment, and disposal in the Ganges Sewer Area. The service is authorized and administered under Bylaw 1923.

The Ganges Sewer Local Services Commission provides community input for the delivery of sewage collection and wastewater treatment.  This service is managed and operated by the CRD Integrated Water Services Department.
