Water conservation bylaws are in effect from May 1 to September 30, unless otherwise authorized by the General Manger of Integrated Water Services.

Due to continued drought conditions and low ground and surface water levels, the CRD has officially extended Bylaw 4492. The extension of the bylaw remains in effect until further notice.

Source Water

The Cedars of Tuam Water System obtains its drinking water from a deep well located 200m south of Roland Road.

Water Treatment Process

The well water is treated at the well head using chlorine (liquid sodium hypochlorite) disinfection.

Distribution System

The disinfected water is pumped to a 40,000 litre storage reservoir adjacent to the well and then is distributed to customers through a 100mm (4") water main that runs along Roland Road. Service connections are provided to the property line by 20mm copper or polyethylene pipe with curb stops and individual household meters. Service from the property line to the dwelling is the homeowners’ responsibility. The distribution system contains two standpipes located at opposite ends of the distribution system.
