How long does it take to get a permit?

A “turn around time” of between 14 - 21 days for complete applications, depending on the size of the project and whether other agency approvals are required.

How long is my building permit good for?

A building permit expires at two years from the date of issue. In some cases the building inspector can extend the period of time up to a maximum of one year.

How do I book an inspection?

Please call one of our four building inspection offices to arrange for an inspection. We ask that you provide 24 hours notice when requesting an inspection and that you also provide us with the building permit number, address of the property being inspected and type of inspection required.
