Metchosin, Witty's Lagoon Regional Park
Event Information
Witty's Lagoon Regional Park (Metchosin)
Join CRD Regional Parks cultural programmer, Leslie McGarry, for
a walk at Witty's Lagoon Regional Park and discover a human
history spanning thousands of years. Learn about the cultural
significance of plants, animals and the seasons and how First
Peoples deeply respect, appreciate and celebrate gifts from
forests, rivers, lakes and the sea.
Meeting place: Meet at the Teaching Shelter, off the Lagoon Trail
which is accessed via the main parking lot off Metchosin Road.
Trail Description: 800m total distance. A steep wide gravel trail near the main parking lot, leading to a narrow trail with tree roots. The surface for the walk itself is a combination of gravel and compact clay-like soil. Accessible washrooms available near parking lot and Teaching Shelter. Not stroller friendly.
Please note: We like pets too. However, their presence can be disruptive for some folks. If you plan to attend one of our programs, please leave pets at home. Guide and service animals are, of course, welcome.
