Farm and rural property owners and operators from within the CRD are invited to attend a free workshop on stormwater management. Learn how to incorporate green infrastructure and stormwater management best practices to slow, sink and store rainwater, as well as reduce pollution entering storm drains, rural watersheds and local waterways. Explore available resources and how to adapt your specific site.

Participants will explore knowledge and practical tools on the following topics:  

  • Climate change projections in the CRD
  • Balancing drainage and retention 
  • Soil health, soil cover and water retention  
  • Slow, sink, spread and store rainwater on the rural landscape
  • Drainage basics 
  • Sources of water pollution and best management practices  
  • Outdoor field assessment and site analysis 

Instructors: Tayler Krawczyk, Hatchet and Seed and Foster Richardson.

Registration is required and space is limited. Lunch will be provided.
