The Capital Regional District ("CRD") invites detailed proposals from consultants (the "Proponents") in strict accordance with these Proposal Documents (CRD, RFP No. 20-144). The proposals will be evaluated for the selection of a consultant (or consultants) with the intent to enter into a contract (the "Contract") to provide the services described in the Request for Proposal Document in the Additional Documents section below.
This RFP is issued by the CRD and Capital Region Housing Corporation ("CRHC") to the private sector and other community groups interested in partnering with the CRD/CRHC in creating new rental housing units for independent individuals, seniors and families within the Capital Region.
The CRD/CRHC is looking for a partner who will donate or provide land at a nominal cost land to the CRD, and, on that land, build an affordable housing project that will be owned and operated by the CRD/CRHC.
The CRD/CRHC will be applying for funding to BC Housing through the Building BC: Community Housing Fund ("CHF"). Final project approval by BC Housing: This process is not a guarantee of receiving funding and will only occur should the proposal successfully proceed through to and including final approval by BC Housing and on other conditions specific to this proposal. All local government approvals will need to be in place to receive final project approval.
Respondents to this RFP and their employees are expected to have the necessary experience, resources and capacity to undertake such a project.
A Contract will not necessarily result from this Request for Proposal ("RFP").
Proposals are due on or before May 25, 2020 4:30 p.m. local time.
