The Capital Regional District (CRD), hereinafter referred to as the "CRD”, invites Proposals for the services of an Owner’s Engineer (OE). The OE shall represent the CRD as a Project Manager which includes assisting the CRD with the project evaluation, administration, construction oversight, and commissioning of the Regional EV Charger Network.
The Capital Region Public Electric Vehicle Charging Network (“Project”) is a collaboration between the Capital Regional District (CRD) and the thirteen (13) local governments and three (3) electoral areas on and surrounding Southern Vancouver Island. Pending funding, this project aims to greatly expand the availability of publicly accessible electric vehicle (EV) charging stations across the capital region of British Columbia. Work planned by the CRD will result in the installation approximately 149 Level 2 (L2) charging ports across approximately 66 different sites.
Development of the Project will be phased over an approximate three (3) - year period (January 2024 – March 31st, 2027), consistent with the pending external grant funding schedule. A high-level summary of sites to be included in this project is outlined below. Confirmation of sites and project phase timelines are subject to change pending funding considerations, stakeholder engagement, and site feasibility.
