June 20, 2019: Addendum No2: Non Mandatory pre-tender site meeting notes, Q&A and proponent clarification Q&A's.

June 11, 2019: Addendum No2 - Non Mandatory pre-tender site meeting has been changed from June 14 to June 18, 2019 9:00AM. See attached addendum.

June 7, 2019: Addendum No 1- closing time has been revised from 3PM on June 25th to 2PM on June 25th, 2019.

INVITATION TO TENDER

1.1          Sealed Tenders, plainly marked on the envelope Tender for Contract Number 2019-407 WEEKS MAIN ROAD RE-ALIGNMENT AND SUPPLY/ INSTALLATION OF L505 BRIDGE" will be received by the Purchaser, Integrated Water Services of the Capital Regional District at their offices at 479 Island Highway, Victoria, British Columbia up to 2:00 pm local time on Tuesday June 25, 2019, at which time they will be opened in public.

1.2          The works to be constructed under this Contract include, but are not limited to:

The Contractor will be responsible for the following during this project:

  • Dangerous tree assessment of the project area.

  • Right-of-way and dangerous tree falling.

  • Road construction including culvert and bridge supply/installation.

  • Rock drilling and blasting where required.

  • Developing riprap armouring required for culvert and bridge installations.

  • Transporting riprap to culvert and bridge sites.

  • Culvert and bridge procurement.

  • Piling of waste wood debris (e.g. stumps, branches, non-merchantable pieces of log, roots and other shrubby vegetation).

  • Hauling all merchantable logs generated from right-of-way and dangerous tree falling out of the watershed.

  • Removal of any garbage or construction / equipment service waste from the watershed.

  • Road is to be finished to a standard allowing safe 4WD pickup, water tender and lowbed travel, this does not imply a fully gravel surfaced road.  

There is one 14 m clear-span bridge and nine culvert installations ranging in size from 600 mm to 1200 mm diameter that the Contractor is responsible to procure and install. 

All waste wood debris (e.g. stumps, pieces of log, branches, etc.) will be piled during construction at roadside openings for future on-site burning by the District.

 

1.3          Digital copies of Specifications, Drawings, Contract Documents, and Tender Form will be available for no cost electronic download from the CRD website at https://www.crd.bc.ca/about/contracts-rfps/current after registering as a vendor.  Registration is done on the website at no cost. 

1.4          The lowest or any tender will not necessarily be accepted.

1.5          A non-mandatory pre-tender site meeting to review the site conditions, laydown areas, and access route will be held at 9:00 am on Tuesday June 18, 2019, 9:00AM commencing at the Watershed Protection Field Office, 3051 Niagara Main Road in Langford.
