CRD is seeking information, through this RFI process, from interested parties for a software solution to support the Cross Connection Control division’s core operations, which are outlined in the Cross Connection Control Bylaw, and which serve to protect the region’s drinkable water supply.
Operations that could benefit from this software include:
- Enabling members of the public to find and solicit services from BCWWA-certified backflow preventor assembly testers.
- Enabling certified backflow preventor assembly testers to submit test reports for backflow preventor assemblies.
- Entry, processing, and retrieval by Cross Connection Control staff of test reports submitted by certified backflow preventor assembly testers.
- Entry, processing, and retrieval of inspection reports [mandating the installation of backflow preventor assemblies] by Cross Connection Control staff facilitating the audit process (outlined in Appendix C – User Story C).
- Identification of non-compliant facilities.
- Generation, issuing, and retrieval of notices [for noncompliant facilities] pertaining to audit requirements and testing deadlines.
- Inspection prioritization and scheduling.
- Retrieval of standardized statistical reports, generated on a scheduled basis; ad-hoc retrieval of statistical information based on queries.
Interested parties are invited to respond to this RFI by submitting a detailed response to CRD. Responses should include ideas, information and recommendations that could result in clarification of how your proposed solution meets the requirements and provides cost-saving opportunities. Responses can also identify potential problem areas with this initiative. Respondents are requested to provide a concise and focused response to this RFI.
