The CRD, as Reaching Home Community Entity (CE), invites applications to a rolling Request for Funding process for eligible projects up to $75,000 in value and which will be completed before March 31, 2024. Projects can be for any eligible funding area under the Reaching Home Directives. The CRD is required to allocate all available Reaching Home funding before March 31, 2024 and will update the amount available on the business section of the CRD website monthly. Prospective applicants are encouraged to subscribe to this opportunity for updates.

At their June 2023 meeting, the Reaching Home Designated Communities Community Advisory Board (CAB) recommended that the CE engage with current Reaching Home funded programs on their funding needs and solicit proposals for new opportunities. These opportunities could be one-time purchases or projects up to 6 months ending March 31, 2024. 

Submission Requirements

Please refer to Appendix A: Required Supporting Documents in the attached funding announcement. 

Applications should outline:  

• Identify the activities, eligible under the Reaching Home Directives, that the program plan and funding request will focus on
• Demonstrate how the project will contribute towards preventing homelessness, reducing homelessness or improve existing support services
• Detailed budget which does not exceed $75,000 total and administrative expenses do not exceed 15% of the client centered costs

Note: proposals cannot be for services currently provided by Provincial programs (i.e. BC Housing and Island Health) and must meet all CRD and Reaching Home funding requirements

Submission Deadline

Submissions will be accepted until all available funding is allocated or December 31, 2023. Review of submissions will begin on August 16, 2023. Any request received after August 16 will be reviewed in the order they are received.
