UPDATE - November 23, 2021
Please note the following important updates to this Open Request for Funding:
1. The Allocation amount has been adjusted from $1,162,000 to $150,000.
2. The Closing Date has been adjusted to November 30, 2021, 4:00 PM.
All other aspects of this Request for Funding remain the same as outlined.
The Capital Regional District, as the Community Entity administering the Government of Canada's Reaching Home (RH): Canada's Homelessness Strategy, has established an Open Request for Funding process in the allocation of approximately $150,000 of Indigenous Homelessness Reaching Home funds. Funding is available for projects over $20,000 and completed before March 31, 2022.
The RH Indigenous Community Advisory Board (ICAB) has identified the following priorities for the disbursement of funds:
1. Housing Services
2. Prevention and Shelter Diversion
3. Client Support Activities
4. Capital Investments
Eligible project costs and activities for each of these categories are outlined in the Government of Canada's Reaching Home: Canada's Homelessness Strategy Directives. and only proposals that meet the above listed sections of the Directives will be considered.
Not-for-profit organizations, First Nations and local governments providing services within the Victoria Census Metropolitan Area are invited to apply for this funding. Please note: On Reserve activities are eligible under the Designated Communities funding stream, please contact CRD staff (contact info below) for further details.
In addition to the above stated priorities and eligible activities, proposals must meet the following criteria:
- Activities benefit Indigenous individuals and families who are chronically homeless or at imminent risk of homelessness.
- Meet RH Directives eligibility.
- If related to provision of Housing Services, work within Housing First principles.
- Demonstrate strong project concept, viability, organizational capacity and community support.
- Meet all CRD contracting requirements, including but not limited to proof of minimum of $3M Commercial General Liability Insurance.

Please submit a 2-3 page proposal with a completed Budget Template document (please request the budget template from Jerry Michael) to Jerry Michael, Reaching Home Program Coordinator, jmichael@crd.bc.ca.
Deadline
Proposals are accepted at any time and adjudicated as received. Closing date for receiving proposals is November 30, 2021, or earlier if funds are expended.
Adjudication
Decisions will be made in accordance to above ICAB approved criteria and CRD contracting requirements, and on a first come basis.
