23/141e - Restoration Assistant

Under the direction of the Coordinator of Volunteers this position assists with the coordination and guidance of volunteers at Regional Parks sponsored restoration and shoreline or trail clean-up events. The position may also assist with other outreach events as required. Coordination includes event prep and wrap up, providing site and invasive plant species specific information, demonstration of removal techniques, reviewing safety procedures, delineating work areas and monitoring the work and recognition of volunteers. This position also collaborates with the Environmental Conservation Specialist and Operations staff with regards to the running of these events. The applicant or incumbent will be required to undergo a criminal record check in order to work in this position and to report to their supervisor if any criminal charges are laid against them that may be related to their employment in this position.
