Ganges Sewer Local Services Commission
The Commission administrates a sewage collection and disposal service for the community of Ganges. The service is funded by parcel tax, user fees and connection charges.
CRD Administrative Relationship
The commission establishes policies for the operation of the service and recommends to the CRD Board levels of user fees, parcel and frontage taxes and other charges for the service. The CRD Board makes these recommendations into bylaws. The commission works closely with the Environmental Services Department, which supplies operating staff and management of the service.

Salt Spring Island Liquid Waste Disposal Local Service Commission
This service provides treatment of semi solid sewage waste on Salt Spring Island. The service is based on the Burgoyne Septage Disposal Facility. The commission administers a service that operates the treatment plant.
CRD Administrative Relationship
The commission recommends policies governing the provision and operation of the service, including the levels of user charges, and frontage or parcel taxes, which the CRD Board then establishes by bylaw. The services is operated by CRD Environmental Services staff.

Salt Spring Island Solid Waste Advisory Committee
Comprised of SSI officials and members at large who represent the residents of SSI, the committee deals with all SSI solid waste issues on the island.
CRD Administrative Relationship
The committee reviews and makes recommendations to the CRD Board, through the CRD Environment Committee; the Board then establishes the recommendations by bylaw. The chair of the committee is the SSI Electoral Area Director.

Beddis Water Service Commission
The commission administers the water service as established by CRD Bylaw 3188. The system relies on surface water drawn from Cushion Lake.

Cedars of Tuam Water Service Commission
The Commission administers the water service for the Cedars of Tuam subdivision on Roland Road off Isabella Point Road, on the west shore of Fulford Harbour, based on CRD Bylaw 3021.

Fernwood Water Local Services Commission
The commission administrates two services, which provide water to the Fernwood rural development and the North Beach subdivision. Fernwood Water was established by the CRD in 1989; the North Beach system, formerly a waterworks district, was taken over by the CRD in 2004.

Highland Water & Sewer Local Services Commission
The commission administrates two services on Salt Spring Island: a water supply system serving Highland Estates and Maliview Estates; a sewer service for Maliview Estates only. The Maliview sewer service, started in 1979, is the older and was not extended to the Highland subdivision.
