National Day for Truth and Reconciliation - September 30
Each year, September 30 marks the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. This day provides an opportunity to commemorate the history and ongoing trauma caused by residential schools, as well as to honour those who were lost and the survivors, families and communities who continue to grieve. Panorama Recreation recognizes the importance of honouring a day for Truth and Reconciliation and our facilities will be closed or operating at reduced capacity similar to other recognized days of remembrance.
Panorama Recreation Centre will be open 7am - 6pm.
Greenglade Community Centre is closed.
We encourage everyone to use this day as an opportunity to learn, listen and reflect on our shared history and the impacts colonialism has had, and continues to have, on Indigenous peoples. To learn more, click here for additional resources.

National Indigenous Peoples Day
In celebration of National Indigenous Peoples Day, join us for a Free Swim on Tuesday, June 21, 6-8pm at Panorama Recreation Centre
National Indigenous Peoples Day is a time for us to reflect on our shared history and connect with Indigenous cultures. The capital region spans the traditional territories of many First Nations, of which 11 have Reserve lands and 9 have settlement populations, and all of whom have a long standing relationship with the land and waters from time immemorial that continues to this day. Panorama Recreation and the CRD believe that a positive working relationship with First Nations is good for the whole region. For us to have a positive relationship with First Nations we need to acknowledge, respect and complement their Indigenous laws, customs and systems of governance. For more information please take a look at the CRD’s Statement of Reconciliation.
