Welcome to the Victoria International Junior ITF Tennis Participants

From October 13th until October 20th, junior tennis players from 7 different countries will compete for the single and double titles in the 7th Victoria International Junior ITF Tennis Championships presented by Allardyce Bower Consulting. Read more >>

Annual Pool Maintenance - August 20th to September 3rd

The Aquatic Centre will be closed August 20th until September 3rd for annual pool maintenance. During this time, each pool and waterslide will be drained and cleaned. Additional work will include tile regrouting, wall and railing painting, sauna repairs and pool mechanics checked. Panorama Active pass holders may use their pass at the other Greater Victoria recreation pools (Commonwealth, Esquimalt, Oak Bay, Juan de Fuca, Gordon Head and SEAPARC) during the closure.

Free Play in the Park

Every weekday evening through July & August, join Panorama staff from 5:30 - 8:30pm for some free summer fun for the whole family that includes interactive play, face painting, group games, and of course, inflatable fun on our giant 50’ obstacle course!

EncoreFX Victoria International Women's ITF Tennis Event

The 2018 EncoreFX Victoria International Women's ITF Tennis Event will feature players from all over the globe completing for world ranking points. Tree Removal

Due to root intrusion of the drainage system and the potential for future damage to our racquet sports facility, the District of North Saanich has approved the removal of the trees along the east side of the facility. The tree removal, as well as the planting of new trees on the property will take place starting May 28th.

As part of Physical Literacy Month we have created the Active Kids Club to encourage and reward children for practicing important skills such as catching, running, jumping, swimming and throwing. Arena B Ice Rink Reopened Friday, October 6th

The Arena B floor at Panorama Recreation approached the end of its service and required replacement. Moore Wilson Architects was retained to carry out the design work. Construction commenced on April 3rd, and the arena reopened Friday, October 6th.

This 2.2 million dollar project, which included a $500,000 Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Grant, went extremely well. Panorama Recreation is excited to showcase its many new features and strives to be a sustainable facility and provide the best quality and experience for our arena patrons.

Victoria International Junior ITF Tennis

Come watch world class tennis at the Victoria International Junior ITF Tennis tournament. Over 90 players from countries around the world including Bulgaria, Hong Kong, Japan, USA, Canada, Great Britain and Mexico. Main draw October 16-21, with finals October 19-21. Active Aging Week - September 24th to 30th

Active aging promotes the vision of all individuals regardless of age, socioeconomic status, or healthfully engaging in life within seven dimensions of wellness: emotional, environmental, intellectual/cognitive, physical, professional/vocational, social and spiritual. Join Panorama staff for a tour of Greenglade or Panorama and learn about the different programs and services that we offer. Physical Literacy Week
April 2-8

Join us April 2 - 8 to learn more about physical literacy and the fundamental movement skills, and their importance for more than just participation in sport, but also for navigating activities of daily life! $10,000 Encore FX Victoria International Women's Tennis Event

Welcome to all the athletes participating in this year’s $10,000 EncoreFX Victoria International Women’s Tennis Event at Panorama Recreation Centre on the Saanich Peninsula. This event features 45 to 64 female athletes from around the world competing for $10,000 in prize money as well as Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) ranking points in both singles and doubles. Come and check out some world class tennis action. Free admission.  

Panorama Recreation Centre Receives Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program Grant

Panorama Recreation has received $500,000 from the Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program to support our project to rehabilitate the floor system, rink boards and glass in Arena B at Panorama Recreation Centre. This project will commence March 1, 2017 and we anticipate to be up and running with the new system October 2017 for the 2017/2018 ice season. The estimated cost of this project is $1.4 million, which includes the $500,000 Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program funding.

The CRD Community Map

The CRD Community Map is intended to support the social connectedness of older adults in the capital region. The map identifies places for recreation, lifelong learning, volunteering, support groups and social centres.

Panorama Recreation, in partnership with Tennis Canada, is pleased to announce that EncoreFX, a Victoria based international exchange firm, has signed a three year commitment as title sponsor of the $10,000 EncoreFX Victoria International Women’s Tennis Event.

Kraft Hockeyville Arena Improvement

The Peninsula Recreation Commission has established a working committee which has started discussions in regards to the Kraft Hockeyville arena improvement funds. Once the plan options have been developed, we will be inviting the community to provide their input

Washroom Renovations - Greenglade Community Centre

Some exciting changes will soon be underway at Greenglade Community Centre.

Beginning on Monday, January 11, the washrooms at Greenglade Community Centre will be under renovation. This project will allow for the renovation of two washrooms, the creation of a unisex washroom and provide barrier free access (fully accessible) washrooms. We received a Federal Enabling Accessibility in Communities Grant to assist towards the costs of the renovations. Washroom facilities will continue to be available during the renovation process.

Kraft Hockeyville

hockeyville-logoThank you to everyone who made the 2015 Kraft Hockeyville Pre Season game and celebrations a success.

Panorama Recreation was announced the grand prize winner of Kraft Hockeyville 2015 in April and received $100,000 to fund arena improvements in addition to hosting an NHL® Preseason Game between the San Jose Sharks® and Vancouver Canucks® hosted at The Q Centre on September 21, 2015.
