SEAPARC Bike Park Redesign Announcement
Mike Hicks, SEAPARC Chair, is pleased to announce a project to redesign and redevelop the existing SEAPARC bike park.
For the past 5 months a steering committee consisting of representatives from the Sooke Bike Club, District of Sooke, and SEAPARC have been discussing the future of SEAPARC’s bike park.
On Wednesday April 2, 2014 the Sooke & Electoral Area Parks and Recreation Commission voted to support the recommendation to spend up to $24,000 for the redesign and redevelopment of existing SEAPARC bike park. The project will focus on improved accessibility, drainage and user friendliness.
SEAPARC Manager Steve Knoke, stated “these improvements will provide a greater opportunity for children and youth and a welcome addition to the programs at SEAPARC”.
SEAPARC will explore grants and in kind donations with partners and volunteers. There is potential to increase the value of the park by working with the community for support.
Design of the new park will begin immediately with construction anticipated to start this spring.
Registration for Spring/Summer programs is open!
