What's New at SEAPARC Leisure Complex

COVID-19 Mask and Vaccination Requirement Update

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, SEAPARC has followed the guidelines and orders set out by the Provincial Health Office and other governing bodies including WorkSafeBC, Island Health, British Columbia Recreation and Parks Association (BCRPA), and the Lifesaving Society.

As we continue to follow orders from the PHO, proof of vaccination with government issued ID is required for the following:
  • Spectators at any event with more than 50 people in attendance (12+ years and older)
  • Indoor fitness/yoga classes (12 years and older)
  • Weight room access is for 16 years and older (13-15 years who have taken the Regional Weight Room Orientation course may also attend)
  • Indoor adult sport participation (12 years and older) – pickleball, family hockey, etc.
  • Indoor adult sport rentals (12 years and older) – hockey

According to the PHO we must ensure those utilizing select facilities/programs have received at least the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, and that as of October 24th, 2021 have received the second dose at least 7 days prior.

Proof of vaccination is not required for:

  • Pool usage including aquafit, swim lessons and lap swimming
  • Youth indoor sport participants (21 years and under)
  • Outdoor sports or gatherings
  • Parents of youth programs to drop off, support, participate or watch
  • General facility access/use such as washrooms, changerooms and showers
  • Adult recreation programs under 50 person capacity (art)
  • Out of school care programs
  • Skating Programs and lessons

Additionally, patrons must wear a mask in common and public areas (including hallways, washrooms and change rooms) when not engaged in physical activity. This mask requirement applies to those 5 years and older, regardless of vaccination status.

Please plan ahead and bring proof of vaccination, government-issued photo ID if 19 years and older, a mask, and allow extra time for you visit to accommodate these changes.

Please continue to follow the health guidelines of practicing careful social contact.

Fall Program Services Update

Registration for fall programs is now available. Registration can be completed online, by phone or in person.

Please note that as we continue to address aquatic staff shortages, capacity limits will remain in place to maintain safe lifeguard to patron ratios. At any time swim session capacity may be reached, and admission/entry stopped.

Online payment options for swims, weight room sessions or public skates will continue to be available in the fall. You must check in with reception prior to attending your chosen activity.
