Kenneth Lavallee is of Métis descent, and lives and works in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Traditional ideas of balance, order, harmony and interconnectedness gathered from both Indigenous and Western learning continue to guide his work as he explore new possibilities with elemental mediums such as steel, wire, rock and wood in responding to spaces and opportunities around him. Be it through sculpture, installation, large scale mural, animation or object design, he aims to create work that successfully incorporates itself to the world at large, bridging together his Métis heritage with modern design sensibilities.
