Horizontal bronze work.
Excerpt from the artist's statement:
"With the intention of engaging the viewer throughout the entire site, I decided to focus on the physical changes that have occurred within the locale. The imagery for this project was derived (with license) from the mapping and hydrographic surveys done by the British in the early days of exploration."
There are three scales to the work. The "creek or stream" that originates from the corner of Blanshard and Humbolt references the original stream that flowed from Rock Bay past Queen Anne's, draining into the harbour. The centre element is an image of water flowing/draining across the mud flats, and the last section on the northerly side is derived from the hydrographic survey originally done by the British (before the bay was filled in for the Empress Hotel).
