The mosaic is a five-foot circular installation at Quadra and Pembroke Streets.
Artwork Statement
Drawings of sports figures, made by Grade 5 students at St. Andrews Elementary School, were rendered in a slip-proof, cast glass with an unglazed porcelain tile background. This was made for, and in consultation with, the North Park Community Association as a beautification project.
About Sandra Millott
Biography
Victoria's mosaic artist Sandra Millott incorporates fusion and kiln-cast glass into her designs to create unique visual elements. Her career spans over 25 years in ceramics and glass. With work in numerous private and public collections in Canada and the US, Millott's distinctive style is applied to installations and the refinement of her signature glass-casting techniques.
