Inclusion

We believe that everyone should have an opportunity to participate in recreation activities, and with that, are committed to providing supports and services for community members that work to minimize barriers and encourage participation.

Facilities

We operate two main facilities, Panorama Recreation and Greenglade Community Centres, and utilize additional spaces throughout the community to accommodate a variety of seasonal programming. Panorama Recreation and Greenglade Community Centres are accessible, with the following features:

Panorama Recreation Centre

• Designated accessible and wide parking stalls for ramps.
• Designated hand-dart loading zone.
• Wheelchair accessible including automatic doors, washrooms. 
• Hearing loop at main reception area and Fitness Studio.
• Elevator to weight room/second floor.
• Accessible weight room equipment including; functional training cable machines, NuSteps and recumbent stationary bikes, various free weight and resistance equipment, and Active Hands gripping aids.
• Accessible aquatic facility with women's, men's and universal changerooms, lifts for the main pool, leisure pool, hot tub and waterslide, and a gradual entry with railings. Water wheelchairs available for those who prefer to not use the lift. Patron-assisted double waterslide riding is allowed only for those with mobility challenges.

• Wheelchair accessible arena spectator viewing:

  • Arena A – located at the south/east end

  • Arena B – located at the south/west end

• Accessible playground - Please note the accessible swing is currently not available.

Greenglade Community Centre

• Accessible washrooms
• Accessible weight room equipment including; functional training cable machines, NuSteps and recumbent stationary bikes, various free weight and resistance equipment, and Active Hands gripping aids
• Accessible pottery studio with tables that can be raised or lowered

Programs

Committed to making recreation accessible and inclusive, many of our programs can be adapted to meet your needs. If you or your child has a particular inclusion need, please give us a call in advance, and we would be happy to discuss program details and any adaptations or support needed to ensure a positive experience. We appreciate as much advance notice as can be provided.

Safe Spaces

A safe space is a space where the LGBTQI+ community can freely express themselves without fear. It is a space that does not tolerate violence, bullying, or hate speech towards the LGBTQI+ community. Read more >>

Jumpstart
Multi Sport Court

Construction is complete and the Jumpstart Multi Sport Court is open at Panorama Recreation Centre.  Learn more about this inclusive and accessible facility available for public use here. 

Leisure Assistant Pass Information & Application

Saanich Peninsula residents may apply for a Leisure Assistant Pass with Panorama Recreation.

• Leisure Involvement for Everyone (LIFE) – Provides no- and low-cost recreation opportunities for individuals and families living on limited incomes.
