Mail Ballot Voting

Mail ballot voting is available to all residents (including renters) and non-resident property electors in the Salt Spring Island Electoral Area. If you are not on the Provincial Resident Elector List or the CRD Non-Resident Property list of Electors, you may register at the time of voting by mail ballot.

Eligible electors must submit a completed mail ballot application as early as possible and no later than May 5, 2023 to allow time for mailing. Completed application forms may be submitted via email or to the addresses provided on the application form.  

Once your application to vote by mail is approved by the Chief Elections Officer or designate, the mail ballot package will be mailed to you OR you can arrange to pick it up at either of the CRD addresses noted on the application.

To be counted, your mail ballot must be received by the Chief Election Officer no later than 4pm on Thursday, May 25, 2023 at one of the CRD addresses listed on the application.

  • It is the obligation of the person applying to vote by mail ballot to ensure that the mail ballot is received by the Chief Election Officer within this time limit
  • Mail ballots cannot be received at advance or general voting locations and must be delivered directly to the Chief Election Officer at one of the addresses listed on the application.
