How do I go green?

Buy classic clothes made to last. Shop at stores that use sustainable materials, organic cotton and practice fair trade.

Shop at vintage and second hand stores. Use old t-shirts for rags and shoe laces to tether up household items.

Textiles for re-sale have to be clean, dry, not smelly and gently used to be suitable. The types of materials accepted vary by location and end use. Phone ahead to confirm which items are accepted.

  • The Environmental Story

Clothing and textiles come in a seemingly endless array of synthetic and natural materials. Many of these fabrics will not decompose. An estimated seven kilograms of textile waste per person ends up in Canadian landfills every year.
