Tires (bicycle)

Bicycle tires and tubes are managed through the province-wide Tire Stewardship BC product stewardship program. Tires are accepted at certain bike retailers and depots. A full list of what is accepted and free depot locations is available on their website.

How do I go green?

Purchase the most durable bike tires you can afford and try to resist switching until you actually need new tires.

There are many videos on the internet with instructions for bike tire reuse. Bike tubes make great hinges for compost box lids and the tires can be made into sandals.

Not all facilities listed below are part of the provincial program and may charge a fee for drop off. Contact facilities directly regarding restrictions and charges.
