Wastewater Planning Update
The Core Area Liquid Waste Management Committee (CALWMC) selected a two-plant treatment option as a base case to form a conditional amendment to the 2010 Liquid Waste Management Plan (LWMP).
The option consists of a two-plant system, with a treatment plant at Clover Point in Victoria, to be buried under the park, and a plant at McLoughlin Point or Macaulay Plains in Esquimalt. There are also provisions for a plant in the Westside to be phased in for future growth at a location to be determined in consultation with Westside communities.

The CRD will to submit a conditional amendment to the LWMP. Provincial support for a plan is required to be submitted to PPP Canada by March 31, 2016 as a condition to securing the PPP Canada portion of the federal funding grants.
