Your local emergency program can help you get involved in some of the volunteer opportunities listed below.

Emergency Support Services (ESS)

ESS plays an important role in our communities by helping evacuees forced from their homes by fire, floods, earthquakes or other emergencies. ESS Volunteers may provide emergency food, lodging, clothing, emotional support, information about the crisis, and may help to reunite families and individuals who have been separated. Read more >>

Search and Rescue (SAR)

SAR volunteers may be trained to conduct wilderness, ground, inland water, and urban search and rescue operations in local areas. Read more >>

Emergency Communications

The Capital Regional Emergency Radio Coordinators Committee (CRERCC) opens the Capital Region Net each Wednesday at 19:30 on the scheduled net control frequency of 145.430 (-600) with 100 hz tone. To get involved with your local Emergency Communications Team, contact your local Emergency Program.
