Jordan River Regional Park is a 187 hectare mixed coastal forest park along the Juan de Fuca Strait. This park is a favourite of locals and offers a scenic view of the Olympic Peninsula.

The Jordan River Regional Park campground operates year round on a first-come, first-served basis. No online or phone registration.

Number of sites

The campground has both drive-in sites and walk-in sites.

All the camping sites are self-contained. The campground offers:

  • waterfront views
  • public garbage bins
  • toilets
  • drinking water station
  • picnic areas
  • individual fire rings

The campground does not provide hydro, dumping station, showers. Cellular phone service is limited.

The campground operates on a first-come first-served basis.

Length of stay

The maximum length of stay is 14 days per calendar year.

Fees

$25/night. Additional vehicle $10/night.
Payable by cash only. Fees include taxes.

  • Quiet time 10pm to 7am
  • Generator use permitted 9-11am and 6-8pm
  • Checkout by 11am
  • No more than 7 persons per campsite with a maximum of 4 adults
  • Fires permitted in designated fire rings only
  • Dogs on-leash in campground
  • Pick up your dog’s droppings
  • Alcohol not permitted outside individual campsite
  • Smoking prohibited
  • Camping permitted in designated sites only

Things to Do

A short walk through the forest, along a trail, boardwalk and down a set of stairs leads to Sandcut Beach, a long cobble shore along the Juan de Fuca Strait. This day-use area is a longtime favourite of locals.

How to Get There

Follow the Trans-Canada Highway from Victoria to the Sooke exit. Follow Highway 14 (Juan De Fuca Hwy / West Coast Rd) toward the town site of Jordan River, approximately 55km. The Sandcut Beach parking area is ~4km before (east of) the Jordan River town site. Allow approximately 1.5 hours driving time from Victoria.

Please follow these rules to keep the park natural and enjoyable for everyone.

  • Stay on designated trails
  • Do not remove or disturb animals or plants, such as wildflowers
  • Dogs must be on leash in the campground, otherwise under control to avoid injuring or disturbing people, pets or wildlife
  • Pick up dog droppings and take them to the trash
  • Leave no trace and carry out litter
  • Motorized vehicles, camping, open fires, smoking, and alcohol are prohibited
