Rainwater Management Techniques Used

Rain gardens

Rain gardens will absorb rainwater runoff from roofs, driveways and walkways, which should reduce the amount of pollution reaching creeks and streams.

Swales will help to remove silt and pollution form surface runoff.

Underground Storage

Wastewater Harvesting/Reuse

Wastewater from aquaculture (fish) tanks, diverted from the sanitary sewer, is used for urinals and toilets. The whole system across the University replaces 4ml of potable water.
