3Rs Programs (Grades K-12)

Register your class for an interactive workshop and/or interpretive tour of the Hartland Landfill and Recycling Drop-Off Facility. Actively promoting waste reduction and recycling education to students and educators for more than a decade, these programs are one of many initiatives in place to reduce the amount of waste generated and disposed of in the capital region.
Location
All workshops take place at Hartland Learning Centre, which is open for pre-booked class and group presentations for between 15 and 35 people. Workshops and presentations may be combined with a behind-the-scenes site tour of Hartland Landfill.
If you are unable to coordinate transportation to the learning centre, arrangements may be made for an in-school presentation.
Borrow Workshop Activities
You can now bring Hartland Learning Centre activities into your classroom! Borrow materials from our That's Not Garbage!, 3Rs Unwrapped and Digging Deeper programs to complete in your own classroom.
Contact us to request materials for a recycle sort, garbage free party planning or a rock and mineral match activity or if you would like to discuss other methods of incorporating waste reduction education into your learning plans.
