Victoria, BC–- Salt Spring Island Parks and Recreation Commission (PARC) invites the public to provide input to update the 2009 Salt Spring Island Parks and Recreation Strategic Plan. PARC is responsible for providing and maintaining community parks, trails, water access points and facilities and provides recreation programs and services to the communities of Salt Spring Island.
The new strategic plan will build on past successes, seek community and stakeholder input and explore the long-term program and facility needs for the community.
The public is invited to participate in an online survey until April 16. The survey will followed by an open house on Tuesday, May 8th from 4pm to 6pm at the Rainbow Road Aquatic Centre, 262 Rainbow Road.
The CRD delivers regional, sub-regional and local services to 13 municipalities and three electoral areas on southern Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands. Governed by a 24-member Board of Directors, the CRD works collaboratively with First Nations and all levels of government to enable sustainable growth, foster community well-being, and develop cost-effective infrastructure while continuing to provide core services to residents throughout the region.
