Victoria, BC- Robert Lapham, Chief Administrative Officer of the Capital Regional District (CRD), is pleased to announce the appointment of Kristen Morley as General Manager, Corporate Services, starting December 15, 2017.
“I am delighted that Ms. Morley was promoted to this position after being selected from a list of highly qualified internal and external candidates,” said Robert Lapham. “Her professional expertise, internal experience and strong leadership will ensure the organization carries out its responsibilities in an effective and transparent manner.”
Ms. Morley will be responsible for legislative and information services; legal services, risk and contracts administration; real estate and property services; Southern Gulf Islands Electoral Area administration; and First Nations relations. In addition, she will be designated as Corporate Officer as outlined in the Local Government Act.
As a professional lawyer, Ms. Morley brings years of legal experience to the role. Prior to joining the CRD as Manager of Legal Services, Ms. Morley worked with Stewart MacDannold Stuart in the field of litigation and bylaw enforcement. She also worked with Heath Law as a civil litigator and the City of Edmonton as in-house legal counsel. She is currently a professional member of the Local Government Management Association and the Law Society of BC.
