Victoria, BC– The Capital Regional District (CRD) owns two properties at 808 and 836 Viewfield Road in Esquimalt. There is now a third tenant in the property at 808 Viewfield Road and the building is now fully tenanted. The tenants include: Spinnakers, the Mustard Seed, and Flying Squirrel Sports – Axis Edition. The 836 Viewfield property has recently added a subsidiary of Wells Fargo, AMJ Campbell, as a tenant in part of the warehouse, with additional dry warehouse and cooler space available.
The Mustard Seed will lease the space for three years at a cost of $150,000 per year, for the purpose of operating a not for profit food distribution and processing centre. AMJ Campbell is confirmed for a short term. Their annualized rent would be about $60,000.
The CRD took possession of the two properties at Viewfield on September 30, 2014 and immediately rented the space for one year to Wilson Foods. Since they vacated at the end of their term, the buildings have been partially occupied. The commercial real estate firm CBRE Limited (CBRE) has been marketing the warehouse space for sale or lease. Both properties have large warehouse buildings on them and continue to be listed for sale.
Celebrating 50 years! The CRD delivers regional, sub-regional and local services to 13 municipalities and three electoral areas on southern Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands. Governed by a 24 member Board of Directors, the CRD works collaboratively with First Nations and all levels of government to enable sustainable growth, enhance community well-being, and develop cost-effective infrastructure while continuing to provide core services to residents throughout the region.
