Victoria, BC – The Eastside Wastewater Treatment and Resource Recovery Select Committee (Eastside Select Committee) is hosting two full day workshops to gather detailed input from the public on site selection and desired outcomes for wastewater treatment for Victoria, Saanich and Oak Bay.
- Saturday, May 30, 10am - 4pm at University of Victoria, Cadboro Commons building, and
- Sunday, May 31, 10am – 4pm at Victoria Conference Centre.
At these events the public can take part in interactive workshops to learn more and share their feedback or simply drop in and ask questions during an open house portion of the day. Please check out the agenda: www.crd.bc.ca/eastside.
The workshops will offer:
- Further information about sites brought forward by Oak Bay, Saanich and Victoria;
- Opportunities to rank options and offer direct feedback; and
- A public exchange ideas and priorities.
Everyone is welcome and registration is not required. However, it is helpful in allowing us to better assess the number of participants who will be attending.
The public can also provide feedback by completing the Eastside Select Committee’s online survey that will be open until June 1 and by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Information gathered from the public will be used to narrow down the list of sites.
For site information, the Eastside Select Committee Survey and more details about the Siting Workshops, and the site profiles including the agenda visit www.crd.bc.ca/eastside.
The Eastside Select Committee is an official sub-committee of the Capital Regional District. The participants (Oak Bay, Saanich and Victoria) are working to identify solutions for wastewater treatment and resource recovery that meet the unique needs of the eastside in a proactive and timely way. The Eastside Select Committee will develop a plan for the eastside that, in combination with the plan from the Westside Select Committee, could form the basis for an amendment to the Core Area Liquid Waste Management Plan (CALWMP).
