Victoria, BC– Robert Lapham, Chief Administrative Officer of the Capital Regional District (CRD), is pleased to announce the appointment of Kevin Lorette as General Manager Planning and Protective Services, effective April 14, 2014.

Prior to joining the CRD, Mr. Kevin Lorette held the role of the General Manager, Property Services Branch with the Comox Valley Regional District. Within this role, Mr. Kevin Lorette provided strategic leadership and was responsible for implementation of key amendments to land use bylaws, Official Community Plans, and incorporating policies in the Regional Growth Strategy. Holding a Master’s Degree in International Business from Asia Pacific International University and a Bachelor of Science specializing in Chemical Engineering from the University of Calgary and more than 15 years of experience in strategic leadership positions, he brings great expertise to the leadership team at the CRD.
The Planning and Protective Services Department delivers services and programs including regional planning, local area community planning, health facilities planning, protective services, building inspection, the housing secretariat and the administrative role overseeing the Capital Region Housing Corporation.
The CRD is a local government that delivers 200+ regional, sub-regional and local services for residents of the region which includes 13 municipalities and three electoral areas within 2370 square kilometres on southern Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands. Governed by a 24 member Board of Directors, the CRD is working to serve the public, and build a vibrant, livable and sustainable region.
