Victoria, BC- The Sooke Region Historical Society and Capital Regional District invite media to share in the celebration of the “Bread and Water” event, as we unveil an exciting historical find. Dating 100 years ago, a stone bake oven was recently uncovered at a historic site near the Sooke River. Hand-built from blasted rock, the oven dates to circa 1911-15 to feed hungry workers constructing the Sooke flowline.
