Victoria, BC - Robert Lapham, Chief Administrative Officer of the Capital Regional District (CRD), is pleased to announce the appointment of Margaret Misek-Evans as General Manager Planning and Protective Services, effective immediately.

"Marg is an exceptional leader with demonstrated regional planning experience and strong organizational management skills. I am delighted that she has accepted this key leadership role and look forward to her contributions to the CRD’s Executive Leadership team."
Prior to joining the CRD, Ms. Misek-Evans held many senior management positions with county and regional governments. Her previous roles included: Corporate Manager of Community and Strategic Planning with the County of Oxford, and earlier she worked in senior capacities with the Ontario Metis and Aboriginal Association, Deloitte and Touche Management Consultants, the University of Guelph, and the Government of Prince Edward Island.
Most recently, Ms. Misek-Evans served in an Acting capacity as General Manager of Planning and Protective Services for the last five months. She holds a Master of Arts, Planning & Development from the University of Guelph, a Bachelor of Arts from the Wilfrid Laurier University, Waterloo, Ontario and a Project Management Certificate from the University of Waterloo.
The Planning and Protective Services Department is responsible for services and programs for: regional planning, local area community planning, health facilities planning, emergency preparedness, bylaw enforcement, animal care, building inspection, the housing secretariat and the administrative role overseeing the Capital Region Housing Corporation.
