Victoria, BC - The Capital Regional District today launched “Green 365,” a multi-part themed campaign that promotes year-round sustainable living both inside and outside of the home.
Between June 19 and early September, the first part of the campaign, “Outdoor Living,” will promote green behaviours that apply to home improvements including water conservation, septic system maintenance, energy saving techniques and the proper disposal of waste. Green 365 will explore all aspects of environmental sustainability around the home.
Using social media, residents will be encouraged to share sustainable behaviour tips and photos of their home’s green appeal and can tune into Kool FM and CFAX for weekly tips. Photos and tips will be shared online and residents have the chance to see their photos published in a 2014 calendar. Residents can also pledge to improve their home’s green appeal and be entered to win a weekly draw for a Green 365 kit.
“We wanted to provide residents with a tool that will help them go green at home”, said Nils Jensen, Chair, Environmental Services Committee. “Green 365 will be an excellent resource to help contribute to environmental stewardship.”
