Victoria, BC – On Wednesday November 17, OPEN CINEMA’s sold out eighth season continues with another strategic event partnership: the Victoria premiere of the inspiring and entertaining film The Clean Bin Project with the Vancouver filmmakers in attendance.
The Clean Bin Project is a delightfully funny feature documentary film about the sobering problem of waste in North America. Vancouver couple Jen and Grant set out on a quest to answer the question: is it possible to live completely waste free? “Our message isn't that everyone has to live completely zero waste, it's that everyone can improve from where they are,” commented filmmaker Jen Rustemeyer. “We can all pick one thing, and when that becomes habit, we can pick another thing. It makes the idea of sustainability manageable.” For more information about the film and to watch a trailer visit www.cleanbinproject.com.
This zero waste event also offers audiences an opportunity to bring their hard-to-recyle items, such as batteries, small appliances, cd’s, dvd’s and more, thanks to ReCYCLISTS. The Greater Victoria Compost Education Association will also have an information table, as well as the usual cash bar, food concession, free Level Ground
Coffee, door prizes and more.
