The Capital Regional District is “Stayin’ Safe, Healthy & Alive” with Collision Avoidance Workshops

Victoria BC - The Capital Regional District is committed to safety and health for its volunteers and employees. During North America Occupational Safety and Health (NAOSH) Week, May 3-9, 2009, employees take part in a number of activities to promote a healthier work environment.

Media are invited to attend the Collision Avoidance Workshops, which will take place at Western Speedway.

Following a short “classroom” session, drivers will be asked to perform useful hands-on driving exercises that focus on skills to avoid collisions and gain the all-important “one more second of reaction time.”Drills will include: vision slalom, braking on a curve, braking to a point, reversing exercises and braking on fine sand.
