Victoria, BC – The CRD has received finalized versions of 12 new discussion papers from its consultants, who are experts in wastewater treatment conceptual planning. The paper topics include Integrated Resource Management (IRM) strategies for heat recovery, water reuse and biosolids management, as well as IRM management examples from Sweden. The discussion papers, along with plain language summaries, are available on the CRD’s wastewater website.
The new discussion papers have been submitted to the Core Area Waste Committee and the Technical and Community Advisory Committee (TCAC), and will help guide the CRD’s research and planning for wastewater treatment in the Core Area municipalities. Decisions on wastewater treatment will involve Triple Bottom Line (TBL) architecture and maximization of IRM strategies, as well as substantial opportunity for public input.
Additional discussion papers are expected to be released in early 2009, at which point the CRD will also be engaging in public consultation and continued dialogue with First Nations.
