Event Information

The CRD is honoured to help promote the Understanding the Village workshop, taking place for the first time in the South Island on March 3rd at the First People’s House at the University of Victoria. This full day workshop, led by Residential School survivors and elders, takes participants through the history of relations with Indigenous peoples in Canada. The day includes time for reflection and offers tools that attendees can take back to their own circles going forward.

Invitations have been sent to a broad cross-section of society: Police, fire, health, education, law, politics, non-profits, business, provincial government and municipalities. The goal is for different members of the community to come together and learn about the history and their own role in it. Please join us on this journey on March 3rd.

For any questions please contact Erich Nahser-Ringer via email or by phone at 250.360.3640.

Cost: $50 – sliding scale available
