MAYNE ISLAND REGIONAL TRAIL CONSTRUCTION

CONTRACT 60.20.04-06

INVITATION TO TENDER

Sealed Tenders, plainly marked on the envelope "Tender for MAYNE ISLAND
REGIONAL TRAIL CONSTRUCTION, CONTRACT 60.20.04-06" will be received by the General Manager, Parks & Environmental Services Department of the Capital Regional District at their offices at 625 Fisgard Street, Victoria, British Columbia up to 2:00:00 p.m. local time on August 10, 2022 at which time they will be opened in public.

The works to be constructed under this Contract generally include, but is not limited to, the following:

Construction of a bike and pedestrian gravel trail adjacent to Village Bay Road from Village Bay ferry terminal to Miner’s Bay on Mayne Island. The major works for this contract include construction of the trail, associated drainage, retaining walls, fencing, signage, and markings. Refer to the complete tender documents and drawings for the full scope of work.

Proponents' attention is drawn to the general conditions and supplemental general conditions in this agreement. Proponents may be awarded follow-on work without a competition.

Digital copies may be downloaded for no cost from www.crd.bc.ca/about/contracts-rfps/ after registering as a vendor and at www.bcbid.gov.bc.ca without registration. Vendors are encouraged to check BC Bid regularly for updates and not rely on e-mail notifications, as e-mail is inherently unreliable and subject to interruptions.

The lowest or any tender will not necessarily be accepted.

A non-mandatory pre-tender site meeting will be held on Mayne Island, meet at the Village Bay Ferry short term parking lot, at 12:00 pm on July 21, 2022. All tenderers must email Genevieve Tokgoz at gtokgoz@crd.bc.ca 48 hours before the site meeting to confirm attendance. Tenderers are recommended to visit the site to ensure that they have satisfied themselves of everything and of every condition that could affect the execution of the work. Tenderers are encouraged to make enquiries to satisfy themselves of the work requirements.

Mayne Island is a remote community with limited on-island accommodation and transportation options. Tenderers’ attention is drawn to the list of Southern Gulf Islands and other local sub-contractors in preparing
bids, as this may assist Tenderers. Tenderers’ should be aware of the need to travel or move goods, materials, and equipment to the island or arrange for accommodation and take this into account in submissions.
