The Capital Region Housing Corporation (CRHC) invites detailed proposals from construction management firms in strict accordance with the RFQ Package located in the Additional Documents section below.
CRHC is a non-profit provider of affordable rental units in the Capital Region of Vancouver Island, BC. Founded in 1983, CRHC owns 1,286 rental units, and manages more than 1,450 rental units in 45 different buildings. CRHC is currently developing a new 158-unit affordable housing project known as the "The Caledonia Redevelopment" (the "Project") located in the Fernwood Neighbourhood of Victoria, BC.
The project is being developed in response to CRHC Board priorities of improving and expanding housing opportunities in the region for households in core housing need. The Board's Strategic Plan focuses on increasing the number of rental units for households in core housing need by adding to the number of subsidized units, rent-geared-to-income units and near-market affordable rental units.
Design and construction administration will be led by an integrated design team being selected through this and other RFQ/RFP processes. The integrated team will include the project's Construction Manager, who will provide pre-construction cost and constructability guidance, as well as valuable market, ways-and-means and trade insights.
The Project will be a high quality, energy efficient multi-family development, which meets the functional and operational requirements of CRHC and BC Housing while providing a warm and comforting living environment for residents.
Proposals are due on or before February 25, 2020, 12:00 pm local time.
Requests for clarification may be made in writing to Project Manager Rob Fowles (
rfowles@crd.bc.ca) until noon (12:00 pm) February 14, 2020.
Please note that this RFQ is also posted to BC Bid and applicants that have already applied need not apply a second time.
