Sealed Tenders, plainly marked on the envelope "Tender for SSI 2021-003 - Multipurpose Room Construction" will be received by the Manager, Salt Spring Island Parks and Recreation at their offices at 108 - 121 McPhillips Avenue, Salt Spring Island, British Columbia up to 2:00 pm local time on Thursday May 27, 2021, at which time they will be opened in public.

Tenders delivered by mail, courier or email to the above mailing or email address (ccharron@crd.bc.ca), must be received prior to the time and date stipulated in the "Invitation to Tender". Delays caused by COVID-19 or any issue, including computer related issues, will not be grounds for an extension of the Closing Time. Tenders received after the Closing Time will be returned unopened to the Tenderer. The clock on Chantalle Charron's computer shall be used to time stamp emails that are received. It is recommended that the Tenderer contact Chantalle Charron to verify that their Tender has been received, but the CRD shall not be liable for any reason should CRD not able to respond prior to the Closing Time. Email is inherently unreliable and Tenderers are encouraged to submit well in advance of the Closing Time to ensure receipt by CRD.

The work to be constructed under this Contract includes, but is not limited to: the construction of a new 159 square meter single storey addition to and renovation of approximately 8 square meters of the existing Rainbow Road Aquatic Centre. The work will include preparation of shop drawings and as constructed drawings. Proponents may be awarded follow-on work without a competition.

The required "in-use" date of the facility is Wednesday December 1, 2021. It is expected that vendors will plan for a substantial completion date, with reasonable period of time for occupancy permit issuance, that takes this "in-use" date into account.

Complete scope of works is described in the drawings and specifications.

Digital copies of Specifications, Drawings, Contract Documents, and Tender Form will be available for no cost electronic download from the CRD website at https://www.crd.bc.ca/about/contracts-rfps/current after registering as a vendor.
Registration is done on the website at no cost.

The lowest or any tender will not necessarily be accepted.

A non-mandatory pre-tender site meeting will be held at 10:00AM on Wednesday May 5, 2021 at the Rainbow Road Aquatic Centre, 262 Rainbow Road on Salt Spring Island.
