Invitation to Tender 2021-657 – Butchart Dam No.5 Foundation Grouting.
Sealed Tenders, plainly marked on the envelope “2021-657 – BUTCHART DAM NO.5
FOUNDATION GROUTING" will be received by the Purchaser, Integrated Water Services Department of the Capital Regional District (CRD) at their offices at 479 Island Highway, Victoria, British Columbia up to 2:00 pm local time on March 3, 2021.

The works under this Contract includes, but is not limited to; the engineering design and
construction of an initial phase of foundation grouting at the right abutment area of Butchart Dam No. 5 (the Dam). A reference design has been prepared by the Owner’s Engineer and included for tendering purposes only. The work will also include the purchase and installation of geotechnical instrumentation in order for the CRD to monitor the foundation after the grouting work is completed.
The work will include preparation of design, shop drawings and as constructed drawings.
The CRD accepts the risk that an initial foundation grouting phase may not completely remediate the leaking foundation issue at the Dam’s right abutment area. After the initial grouting work is complete, the CRD will monitor the new instrumentation and leakage rate for a period of one year, and then decide with support from the Owner’s Engineer whether additional work will be planned under a new separate contract.
